Q: Are your firm’s wealth advisors compensated by commissions?
A: No. Rather than being paid a commission that might incentivize financial planners or brokers to constantly make trades and sell a client something they might not actually need, SFMG Wealth Advisors is compensated on a fee-only basis.

Q: Do you follow your own advice?
A: Absolutely. Our directors and associates are investing in the very stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments we recommend to our clients.

Q: Is your firm registered with the SEC?
A: Yes. We are a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.

Q: How long has your financial planning and wealth management firm been in business?
A: Our firm was founded in 1992 by Greg Morgan. The other managing directors have been with SFMG since 2002. Each director brings years of financial experience and a depth of knowledge to benefit each and every client.

Q: What is the difference between financial planning and wealth management?
A: Financial planning is the development of a plan for evaluating a client’s current financial situation, identifying areas of need, and planning for future life events. Wealth management is a comprehensive approach that focuses specifically on higher net worth individuals including advice on investment management, estate planning, asset protection, and private banking. Our wealth management approach is driven by the desire to provide the highest level of client service.
